Turns out that I fried yet another power supply on my machine. It seemed as though the CPU had gone but turns out to be the PSU again. This would be the third I’ve burned out in the last 4 years.
So this time I bought a slightly more expensive unit which will hopefully last quite a bit longer. The plus side with the new unit is that my machine no longer sounds like a jet idling in my living room.

Hannah also had a blast hanging out with mom and dad on the afternoon hike. She was constantly cooing and babling about what she was seeing. Occasionally we’d stop and let her touch a rock, or some moss or a tree. We came up with a little saying for whenever we go out hiking, “Bushes and trees and rocks and moss! What are we going to see? Bushes and trees and rocks and moss!”

I’m toying with some ideas, one of which is turning the site into a bit of a media fest. One of which music and pictures are the center focus of the site, not so much writing (you can see how often I come up with something to write). I might also have a section for any little programs I come up with as I learn C++.

Beyond that I’m kinda stuck as to what to do with the 20gigs of space on the site just sitting there picking it’s nose.

Well I’m here to tell you it’s all rumor and speculation! “Take that Calculus!” Instead I turned my attention to Fine Arts, particularly the Visual arts. I figured that I’d enjoy playing with paint and drawing naked people more than I would calculus and economics. The only thing about economics I care about is how much money I have in the bank and when the next amount is to be deposited. Beyond that I could care less. So I changed my application to Fine Arts, ‘fine,’ said the registrar. The process seemed easier every day until one fateful day about a week and a half ago…..

The day started like any other day, with me swearing at the radio and trudging across the cold floor to turn it off. I sauntered through the morning shower, got dressed and sat down to my morning fruit shake. A bit of background on the last while, I can saunter through the morning routine as I haven’t had that much work since Christmas. That was when the reality hit me, it goes like this… I’m going to school… I don’t have work… I won’t have money…. I’m going to school??? I don’t have money!!! Why the hell am I going to school then?

I needed a job, not just any job, a good job. So I started on my resume, I needed to anyway as the school wanted it for my application (which is temporarily suspended until I get a clue). I canvased the local electronic stores, even went so far as to send a resume to RBC in Winnipeg…. I know, I know…. Then I went to the Student loan website and did a need assessment. It laughed at me and said I was better of financially than most people. It said, ‘You own a house and a car. You make money, something a lot of students don’t seem to be able to do, and your wife has a job. Thus as per our assessment of your need we’d give you a piece of paper saying, ‘Better luck next time.’.’

So this week rolls around with a service call to a local cabinet company. They needed an airbrush specialist (me) to come and spray away some problems on a bunch of doors. Dad and I waltzed into the facility and I set to work right away on finishing their doors. 4 hours or so later I was finished to the surprise of the staff who’d been planning on tossing the doors. They looked perfect (not surprising since it’s me we’re talking about). The boss then asked Dad for his resume for the Production Manager position. Yesterday he got the job! Wooot!! I too applied and have yet to hear back, hopefully on Monday I’ll hear something.

Now I wait. Hopefully I’ll hear something soon and I’ll post the glorious update asap.

Oh and another thing…. 24 is a day away…. and no I don’t mean the TV show.

It’s come to my attention and realization that for me to succeed in business I need to return unto the halls of knowledge. Unfortunately the last time I was there I left a smoldering pile of detritus, most of which used to be my intellect. I left feeling dumber than when I went in and wasn’t planning on going back for seconds any time soon. Teachers seemed more interested in their classes overall standing in the province than actually helping a student who didn’t get the concept. Thus I left there as fast as humanly possible, not really thinking about where I was actually going in life. I just needed out.

Fast forward 5 years, 1.75 years of marriage(so far so good) and 1 kid later I’m smacking my head saying, “You idiot! Life would have been so much easier if you’d have paid attention!” I realize that now for me to trek back into the educational realm is going to be all the more challenging.

So I started looking into course outlines for a degree in Business Management, cuz I like the sound of it :D. I started reading through the courses and think to myself that this wasn’t looking too bad, until I spotted the dreaded word… Calculus!!! My heart spasmed, my brain twitched and I sneezed. Calculus!!! My brain cried out,
“The way is shut.
It was made by those who are Dead.
And the Dead keep it.
The way is shut. ”

So I said, “Shut up you! I’m going to do it with or without you!”
To which I heard the reply, “How hard could it be?” Only maniacal laughter followed.

So I begin my trek into the final frontier. Going where this man has never gone before. I’m going to University, some day lol. I have to apply first… Which hopefully won’t be too hard as now I am termed a ‘Mature’ student. *falls off chair laughing* I went from a student without a hope of ever being accepted into anything other than an art school to possibly being admitted into a business school in 5 years. Go figure.

So pray for me. I’m going to need it. Pray for bravery, pray for confidence, pray that I get accepted. Pray that God would turn on my brain and that the concepts would sink in and be understood. Pray that I’ll be able to pay for it as it’s a pricey endeavor. Pray pray pray!
